WordPlay – a new project with Leeds Libraries
We are very excited to announce we will be undertaking a month long residency at Leeds Central Library in May 2015, which is part of Leeds Libraries two-year WordPlay project. Wordplay offers many exciting artistic events, performances, exhibitions and workshops inside the newly refurbished The Art Space.
During our Playbods residency we will be collaborating with groups and the general public to explore playfulness and creativity in the library space. We will develop a huge organic nature-inspired installation inside The Art Space, which will stay in situ for people to enjoy until end of May.
Across our workshops and drop-in sessions we will create a multi-sensory, interactive installation and play space for both children and adults. Expect lots of movement challenges, mark making games, soundscape exercises and storytelling activities. The large-scale creation will invite you to immerse your whole body and discover places in which to rest and create your own stories.
The residency consists of artist making days (Saturdays) and public drop-in days (various week days), where public are invited to observe the artist creation process or attend a facilitated creative session. All workshops are FREE and people of all ages and abilities are welcome to play! We hope to see you at The Art Space in May.
